Coursera Viewer New Release

This release comes with a simple but handy feature - now you can hold you surface upside down and still see the videos list in your orientation! This can come particularly useful if you have to connect your headphone with USB and you want that line on your left.

Coursera Viewer Interruption Again

Coursera Viewer is broken by an authentication protocol change again. This time they made their authentication cookies HTTP only, but the library I used does not support HTTP only cookies well, so it got broken. I have made a fix and submitted to Windows Store, please update your app to access Coursera again.

Coursera Viewer bug fix again

If you were like me who is studying Hardware Software Interface from University of Washington, you probably notice one video cannot be downloaded. It is because there was a tab character in the file name (from the download protocol) that the windows file system does not support, I have updated my code to just ignore that character. Please update if you have not already do so :)

Specifying the folder for downloaded video

One of my user feedback to me that Coursera Viewer download all the videos to the C drive is inconvenient for him because his C drive is nearly full and he still have plenty in his D drive. So I have implemented the feature for changing folder for the downloaded videos.

Go to the settings, you can find the change folder options, just browse to the folder you wanted to store the video and that's it. All new videos will be saved there.

The release will be available on the Windows Store soon.

Coursera Viewer New Release

I have put in a bug fix that complain the length of the file is too long. If you happen to download video from Introduction to Optics, you will probably hit this.

With this update, I will throw the stack trace to the screen. Just in case you cannot download for whatever, you can send that stack trace over I can diagnose the problem. Yeah, that's ugly, but I am not sure how do I provide a error reporting mechanism on windows store application, that's sound like a reasonable compromise for now.
